We have an update to our Meet & Greet service, the government guidelines state you only need a BASIC DBS check in place to Meet guests and help them with their onward journey in the UK.

This also applies if you provide emergency accommodation, however in this case it includes anyone in your household who is 16 or over, they also need to have the basic check in place.

This is for adults only, not if they have children travelling with them.

If the guests have children with them, you must have an ENHANCED DBS check in place.

This also applies to vulnerable adult status which is decided by local authorities based on age, disability, or illness.

If you don’t have a basic check in place but would like to continue to be one of our invaluable supporters 🙏🏻 or to become a volunteer, you can apply for one online, the DBS charge a fee of £18 for this service.

I can’t stress enough how vital this service is to make our guests feel safe when they arrive in the UK and their hosts cannot meet them for whatever reason, it’s very rewarding for our volunteers too.
