Ukrainians fleeing the horror of war need a safe place to live

Winter is here, and while many of us look forward to the festive season life in Ukraine is harder than it ever has been during this Russian invasion. Power supplies are limited, people are traumatised and tired, and the harsh freezing weather is about to kick in.

Amazing kind people of the UK have been coming forward to help out Ukrainian friends since the Homes for Ukraine scheme started in March. They have literally saved lives and provided a sanctuary at a time when people had not only lost hope, but may have lost everything. There are many more who are desperately seeking safety but there are now so few sponsors. Sunflower Sisters are searching for kind and caring people to open their homes and hearts at a time when it’s needed more than ever.

Can you make a difference and open your heart and home?

You may have watched events unfold in the last few months and felt helpless, wishing things would change. Maybe you will be the one who makes a difference to the live of someone who desperatly needs it. If you have a spare room or two, or maybe a holiday home that is standing empty over winter, then please consider offering this space to someone fleeing the war.
